Aimee's Classroom

Tuesday morning Maria Antonietta, national director of Scripture Union's school work, and Susan Smith, SLCA's lower school principal, dedicated the classroom for children with special needs in honor of Aimee Powell.

Aimee was a beloved fourth grade teacher at SLCA who was killed in a car accident on her way to school on January 21, 2010.

There are currently 15 children at the Kusi-Ongo school who will be served with this classroom, including kids with Down's syndrome, mentally handicapped children and learning disabled children.

Please pray for a godly, well trained teacher for these sweet children!

This picture was taken on Monday, half way through our 10 hour trip to the boys home at Kusi, near Yungay.

Kusi bound

We are on the bus on our way to Kusi, the boys' home just outside of Yungay. Kusi means "happiness" in Quechua. Please pray for a safe trip!

Safe arrival in Lima

We arrived safely in Lima, but our donation of shoes from Samaritan's Feet was confiscated by customs. Tomorrow Susan will go back to the airport with documentation saying that the shoes are, indeed, a donation and the have no intent of selling them. Please pray for the Lord's favor!

SLCA raised money for the shoes during the Christmas missions fundraiser and are intended for children in two different boys homes and the school at Kusi.

Friday, May 25             Llanganuco National Park ; Pacha Manca; Night bus to Lima

Saturday, May 26           Drive to Ica; dune buggies

Sunday, May 27             Ica activities; church with thestreet boys

Monday, May 28            Deliver water; activities with the boys

Tuesday, May 29           Return to Lima; city tour, shopping; fly home
